Biography
Jordan Daynes is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in the Great Salt Lake area. He writes music with a foundation in orchestral composition and a background in jazz.
His work is shaped by deep training in composition and real-world collaboration across film, dance, and live performance. He is currently scoring a nine-part theatrical dance production, building a through-composed work that integrates tightly with movement and story.
His strength is control and flexibility: he can deliver detailed orchestral writing, adapt quickly to direction, and move between styles without losing a clear musical voice. His background as a jazz musician informs his sense of phrasing, rhythm, and spontaneity, giving his scores a lived-in, human feel rather than a programmed one.
As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, he handles projects end-to-end—from composition to mockups to final production—making him a reliable creative partner for directors and collaborators.
He has performed with Utah Valley University’s Jazz Orchestra, jazz combos, and the Soul Scape ensemble, and has collaborated with Connor Ross, Dixie Choque, and Hans Hansen. He is currently preparing his debut album
